- ➤ Avondale Toyota donated a 2026 Toyota Sienna to Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Center in Goodyear today. The nonprofit will use it to transport teens (ages 12-20) to arts events, performances and after-school activities across the Valley. Goodyear Independent
- ➤ Buc-ee's (Texas-based) will open in summer 2026 along Bullard Avenue near Interstate 10 with plans to create hundreds of local jobs, while new schools, the redevelopment of La Loma Homestead, GSQ business expansion and upcoming local elections shape growth in the area. Goodyear Independent

- ➤ InnovationHub, a city-supported business resource center, will host a free legal workshop for entrepreneurs on Jan. 13 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Georgia T. Lord Library. Attorney Sarah Gilliland will cover legal issues and leadership practices to support local businesses. Goodyear Independent

- ➤ Mayor Joe Pizzillo received the United Humanities Project Public Service Award on Dec. 23 at Zinc Apartments Clubhouse from Glendale-based artist Yvonne Wan for his support for children with special needs and military service members, and he plans to secure grants to boost local programs (and volunteerism) in the future.
