The Arizona Brewery Running Series will hold a 5K on Sunday, March 30th at Saddle Mountain Brewing Co. in Goodyear (check-in is from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and the run starts at 11 a.m.) where runners, joggers and walkers will receive a craft beer, collector's pint glass or seasonal item and enjoy live music, food trucks and sponsor booths while a portion of proceeds benefits local nonprofits.

The Goodyear City Council met on March 24 at 5:00 p.m. to consider a resolution to apply for a grant from the Arizona Sports & Tourism Authority that would fund energy-efficient LED lighting at the Community Park ballfields.

If approved, the project will receive up to $250,000 with the Parks & Recreation Department matching up to $125,000 from its fiscal 2026 budget.

West Valley high school athletes have signed letters of intent or made verbal commitments to join college programs—updates and corrections should be emailed to the athletics coordinator.
