United Aviate Academy at Phoenix Goodyear Airport offers an intensive pilot training program that will lead students, including those with little flight experience, toward a career with United Airlines—applications are open through Tuesday April 15 and acceptance is highly competitive with fewer than 10% admitted. The program trains students in both single-engine and multi-engine aircraft using state-of-the-art simulators at a 340,000-square-foot facility and provides financial assistance through scholarships and loans.

McDonald’s restaurants in Goodyear and Litchfield Park raised over $9,798 for 19 local schools during the annual McTeacher's Night Challenge in February—Copper Trails earned first place with an extra $1,000 donation while Westar and Centerra Mirage followed with additional funds.

Since 2009, the Mellon family-owned restaurants have supported Southwest Valley schools with nearly $177K in total donations.
