The Georgia T. Lord Library will celebrate National Library Week from April 6 to 12 with creative and educational programs.
It will host a tissue paper hot air balloon workshop for children (ages 8 with an adult helper required for ages 8–10) on April 7 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and an air-dry clay crafternoon for teens on April 10 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
🎓 Education
Arizona libraries support free museum access for students through the Act One Culture Pass.
The program, available through more than 175 libraries statewide, helps students from low-income families visit arts and cultural sites during summer break.
🏛️ Government
Goodyear appointed Jasmine Pernicano as City Clerk this week after four years as Deputy and Acting City Clerk, and she will manage official records, elections and meeting compliance.
She holds a Master Municipal Clerk certification and other public administration credentials — city manager Wynette Reed praised her leadership and dedication to public service.
