The Desert Defenders event runs from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Nature Center, where volunteers can remove invasive species + learn about local biodiversity.

Millennium High School senior Cameron Holmes has chosen to play basketball at the University of Arizona after a season that included tough championship games.
He said loyalty and family support inspired him to stay near home.
