West-MEC will host a ribbon cutting on April 17 at its new Southwest Campus to celebrate its Automation & Robotics and IT Security programs.

Applications are open for the new Goodyear Youth Commission that gives high school students a chance to build leadership skills and serve on local projects—students must apply online by April 30 with two character references, and selected candidates will be interviewed by a City Council subcommittee by May 1.

Goodyear will host its 2025 recreational swim season for youth ages 5 to 15 with four teams practicing at Loma Linda Pool and the Goodyear Aquatic Center from June 2 through July 19 and Friday meets starting June 6.

Returning residents may register beginning April 14 at 7 a.m., with new and non-residents signing up on April 18 and May 2 respectively — each swimmer receives a team swimsuit, swim cap and T-shirt while parent meetings are set for May 12 and 13.
