- ➤ The Rock Goodyear, the new location from Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers, will celebrate its official grand opening on Saturday, April 26 at the Goodyear Municipal Complex (located at 14455 W. Van Buren Ave., Building C, Suite 101) after quietly welcoming teens since mid-February. The free event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature live music, dance performances, a fashion show, food trucks and facility tours. Goodyear Independent
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Dozens of former student pilots have sued United Airlines and its Goodyear flight school—claiming that staffing shortages and too few aircraft kept them from completing a one-year program they paid for with steep loans. The federal lawsuit was filed in Phoenix on behalf of 29 students who enrolled expecting to become commercial pilots. Goodyear Independent

- ➤ Former student pilots are suing United Airlines and its Goodyear flight school for fraud after they claim the academy falsely promised a rigorous one-year program but instead ran short on instructors and aircraft, leading to heavy debt and slow progress. The federal suit filed in Phoenix by 29 former students (from several states) says many were expelled when they took too long to advance while United said it is exploring a new accreditation method.
