- ➤ Phoenix West Valley Urban Sketchers and Conscious Creations Art Studio will host a free outdoor sketching event Friday, April 25 at The Wigwam resort in Litchfield Park (300 E. Wigwam Blvd) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants must bring their own supplies (like pencils and sketchbooks) as no experience is needed. Goodyear Independent
- ➤ Rosemarie Dombrowski, the inaugural poet laureate of Phoenix and leader in poetic medicine, will lead a free workshop titled 'Writing for Wellness: A Poetic Medicine Approach' on April 23 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Georgia T. Lord Library. The event will be held in the Community Room at 1900 N. Civic Square—where adults will learn how poetry can help with healing and self-reflection. Goodyear Independent
- ➤ Officials at the Litchfield Park City Council meeting in April approved a design and engineering services agreement with Colliers Engineering — a contract not to exceed $278,455 — to plan a museum and cultural center at the historic La Loma Homestead. City Manager Matthew Williams said work on the historic house will start in the fall as part of a plan to restore the 20-acre site. Goodyear Independent
