- ➤ Cities across the Valley are adding HAWK signals — buttons that activate yellow and red lights to warn drivers — to cut pedestrian crashes by up to 69%, though drivers and pedestrians must learn how to use them safely. Goodyear Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ This summer, a nationally recognized STEM program will be held at Verrado High School during the week of July 14-18. The weeklong camp offers elementary students from K-6 a chance to learn science by building control panels and creating innovative projects led by local educators. Goodyear Independent

- ➤ Goodyear held its first public meeting on updating its zoning rules where city officials explained how land use regulations shape communities—residents were invited to offer feedback for future changes. Goodyear Independent
- ➤ Goodyear is accepting applications for its Community Funding Program that offers nonprofits up to $214,400 in grants to support local human and social services, with funds expected in late July or early August. Nonprofits must show they do not duplicate city services and submit detailed forms by May 11 (faith-based groups must keep religious activities separate). Goodyear Independent
