- ➤ A proposal is under review to build a man-made whitewater adventure park at Estrella Mountain Regional Park in Goodyear. East Valley resident Scott Burley submitted a long-term lease request as part of the park’s master plan update scheduled for late spring or early summer — a 30-day public comment period will follow. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Goodyear voters will take part in a special all-mail election on May 20 — with six charter amendment questions on council voting power over land use, salaries, city departments and utility franchise agreements with EPCOR Water and Liberty Utilities. Ballots were mailed on April 23 and replacement ballots can be requested until May 9 — voters must ensure their ballots are received by 7 p.m. on Election Day. West Valley View
- ➤ Goodyear voters have until Tuesday, May 20 to return ballots by mail or to drop them off at City Hall to vote on six proposals that could change the City Charter and approve franchise agreements with water utilities — ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day for counting.
