Millennium High School graduate Cael Schwartz received a congressional appointment from Rep Paul Gosar to the Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, New York (worth nearly $300k over four years) and will start classes this fall.
The Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank opened registration for its annual Back to School Assistance Program that provides eligible preschool through eighth-grade students a backpack, supplies, shoes and uniforms free of charge; families may apply online through Sunday, May 31 or register in person at Palm Valley Church (l431 N. Litchfield Road) in Goodyear from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
