Agua Fria Food & Clothing Bank will serve a record 868 students with free school uniforms, sneakers, backpacks & supplies on July 26 at Palm Valley Church at 431 N Litchfield Road in Goodyear.

The event partners with the Salvation Army, AZ Community Impact, and local groups while the food bank seeks donations to cover the $50 cost per student.

Communities across the West Valley celebrated their first ever WESTMARC Day on June 23 to honor the Western Maricopa Coalition’s 35 year legacy—local events brought together officials and residents in tribute.

The West Valley Arts Council will open its Art Under Fire exhibit (featuring 90 works by over 30 artists using heat-based methods) at the Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise on Friday, June 27.

The exhibit will run through July 31 and include an opening reception (5 to 7 p.m.) where visitors can meet featured artists such as Bill Battaglia and local potter Dr. Robert Benson.
