🚧 Accidents
The wreckage of a Pitts S1-T plane was found Aug.
13 in Goodyear near Ocotillo Road and Bullard Avenue after its sole pilot went missing from Phoenix Goodyear Airport on Aug. 12—and investigators from the NTSB and Sheriff’s Office are reviewing flight data, weather, and maintenance records to determine the cause.
Authorities found the wreckage of a Pitts S-1T plane near Ocotillo Road and Bullard Avenue on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.—the sole onboard pilot remains unidentified due to severe damage as investigators work with the NTSB.
🚨 Crime
A Goodyear man pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor charges from the February 25 crash on Cotton Lane Bridge that killed two bicyclists and injured 17 others—he faces up to one year in prison, a $2,500 fine, 60 hours of community service, quarterly drug testing and nearly six months of a suspended license.
Goodyear police arrested a student at Estrella Foothills High School after the individual held a handgun in a bathroom and posted the image on social media—authorities say a second student may face charges.

Local family caregivers will attend a free session at the Georgia T.
Lord Library on Tuesday, Aug. 19 from 6 to 7 p.m.—the event will provide practical guidance and support for caring for aging or chronically ill loved ones. The Arizona Caregiver Coalition collaborates with state and community partners to improve access to services.
