West Valley Mavericks Foundation is preparing to open its next round of grants this fall—spotlighting Billy’s Place, a nonprofit that helps over 350 children and caregivers cope with loss.
The organization has donated over $4.2 million to local causes since 2016—supporting Billy’s Place's expansion of free programs and community outreach.

Ivory House, a vintage clothing shop started by brothers Isaiah and Noah Barajas, held a ribbon cutting for its new Avondale storefront this week after closing its Goodyear location due to its lease ending—city and county officials and about 1,000 shoppers attended the event while local vendors now share the space.
Fogo de Chão—known for its tableside service of fire-roasted meats—will open at GSQ on Goodyear Way and Bullard Avenue in 2026 while First Watch will open on Bullard Avenue and McDowell Road the same year.
GSQ will also host other new businesses as the city builds a walkable urban district.
