- ➤ The Goodyear Police Department invites residents to National Night Out 2025 from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the Goodyear Recreation Campus — 420 S. Estrella Parkway. The event will let community members meet officers and learn about public safety — a chance to build stronger ties with law enforcement. Goodyear Independent
- ➤ More than 60 food trucks, live music, and family activities will fill Goodyear Ballpark on Saturday, Sept. 27 as the West Valley Mavericks Foundation hosts its annual Round Up Charity Food Truck Festival—offering vendor booths, a Kids Zone, a Sensory Zone with support from Sounds of Autism, and limited VIP tickets for early entry and networking opportunities. The free event runs from 4 to 10 p.m. and aims to raise funds for local nonprofits helping veterans, children, and families in need. Goodyear Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At a council meeting on Sept. 8, the Public Works Department said high material costs have limited the pavement budget to work on only 55 lane-miles of the city’s 1,156, with the cost nearly doubling since 2020—Mayor Pizzillo and councilmembers supported boosting funds to pave at least 100 lane-miles per year. The budget for FY2026 is set at $4.3 million and changes for FY2027 will be reviewed early to mid-2026. West Valley View
