Estrella Mountain Regional Park and Maricopa County will launch the annual 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge on Nov.
1 — inviting hikers, runners, cyclists and horseback riders to log 100 or 200 miles on county trails by Feb. 8. Finishers will earn a limited-edition T-shirt — with progress recorded via the county's app qualifying them for a drawing for a park pass and a Nature Center voucher.

The USDA instructed states to delay November SNAP benefits because of the federal government shutdown—leaving hundreds of thousands of Arizonans without support as local nonprofits plan to feed families and youth during Thanksgiving.
