- ➤ Maricopa County Parks and Recreation will waive the $7-per-vehicle fee for all regional parks on National Take a Hike Day scheduled for Monday, November 17, inviting residents to explore over 615 miles of trails. Residents in the Southwest Valley can join events at Estrella Mountain Regional Park, where a community night hike and an educational hike along the Gila River are planned — guidelines urge staying on marked trails and bringing water for safety.
