Local agricultural leader Ron Rayner was named one of the 2025 Arizona Historymakers at a ceremony in Scottsdale and was honored for his lifetime work in sustainable farming that saves water and improves soil health.
He developed water-saving no-till practices and served on several boards (including the Central Arizona Project) that boosted agriculture in the West Valley.
City officials and 15 community members met at City Hall today to review holiday display options for a Hanukkah menorah amid other decorations.
They agreed to move the menorah to a patch of rocks in front of the Great Joy sculpture — it will be illuminated with blue up-lighting and placed opposite the Christmas tree for equal visibility.
